How many people did you hire this quarter, and how long did it take? The Hires board answers both in one place. It’s a ready-made board in Analytics that tracks your hires over time and breaks them down by job, source, and recruiter.
Add it in a few clicks, then change it to fit your team.
Note: To view and add boards, you need the Manage report dashboards permission.
Add the Hires board
The Hires board is a template. When you use it, Tellent Recruitee adds a copy of the board to your account. You can change your copy without affecting the template.
Go to Analytics.
At the bottom of the board list, click Add new. If you don’t have any boards yet, click Create your first board.
In the Board templates window, select Hires.
To preview the board with your own numbers instead of sample data, turn on Show my real data.
Click Use template.
The board opens and appears in your board list. Only you can see it until you change its visibility.
Key metrics
These show data for the last 30 days by default:
Hires: the number of candidates hired, based on their hire date.
Time to hire: the average time from when a candidate was added to a job until they were hired.
Time to start: the average time from a candidate’s hire date until their start date.
Advanced reports
These show data for the last 90 days by default.
Hires over time
A line chart of your hires, week by week. Use it to spot trends and busy periods.
Hires per job
A bar chart of how many people you hired for each job, from most to fewest.
Hires per source
A bar chart of hires by source, like LinkedIn or referrals. Use it to see which channels bring in hires, not just applicants.
Hires per recruiter
A table of the number of hires for each recruiter, from most to fewest.
Time to hire per recruiter
A table of each recruiter’s average time to hire, from longest to shortest. Use it to compare how different recruiters approach hiring.
Tip: Recruitment leads can check this board every week to keep track of hires. Hiring managers and upper management might prefer a monthly or quarterly look, or use it to gather numbers for an end-of-year review.
How the numbers are calculated
It helps to know how the board counts hires, so you can read the numbers correctly:
Dates: reports are based on the candidate’s hire date. The exception is Time to start, which is based on the start date.
Time to hire and the date range: the date range applies to the hire date. A candidate who was added to a job in the selected period but hired after it isn’t counted.
Candidates who aren’t hired yet: they don’t count toward Time to hire or Time to start.
Deleted candidates: hires of candidates who were later deleted still count.
Candidates hired for several jobs: the Hires total counts each candidate once. Hires per job counts them once for each job.
Recruiter: this is the recruiter assigned to the job, not the person who moved the candidate to a hired stage.
Which hires you see: you only see hires for jobs you’re assigned to, unless you have the View all existing jobs data permission.
Ways to review your hiring results
A quarterly hiring review: At the end of each quarter, a Head of Talent sets the board’s date range to Last quarter. Hires per source shows that referrals brought in a third of all hires, so the team decides to put more effort into its referral program next quarter.
Balancing recruiter workload: A recruitment lead notices in Time to hire per recruiter that one recruiter takes twice as long as the others. By checking Hires per recruiter, they see that this recruiter is also handling the most hires. They share the workload more evenly across the team.
