To plan your hiring, you need to know how many candidates are coming in, which channels bring them, and how many are still in your jobs. The Candidates board template brings this together in one place, across all your jobs.
This article explains how to add the board and what each report on it shows.
Note: To view and add boards, you need the Manage report dashboards permission.
Tip: We recommend that recruiters and team leads check this board once a month to follow how the numbers change over time.
Add the Candidates board
Add the board from the board template library. You can preview it with your own data before you add it.
Go to Analytics.
In the sidebar, click + Add new.
In Board templates, select Candidates.
To preview the board with your company's data instead of sample data, turn on Show my real data.
Click Use template.
The board now appears in the Analytics sidebar, and only you can see it until you change who has access. You can edit, move, or remove any report on it to fit your needs.
Key data
The top row of the board shows four key numbers. By default, they cover the last 7 days:
New: the number of candidate profiles created.
Moved: the number of candidates moved to another stage in a pipeline, based on the date of their last move.
Disqualified: the number of candidates disqualified from jobs.
Overdue: the number of candidates who stayed in a stage longer than its time limit.
Note: Moved counts candidates by their most recent move in a pipeline, in any direction. It doesn't count every move, and it doesn't check whether the move was forward.
Advanced reports
Candidates over time
A column chart that shows the number of new candidates per day, split by origin: Careers site, Email, Manually added, Referral, and Sourced. By default, it covers the last 30 days.
Use it to spot peaks and drops in new candidates, and to see what caused them. For example, a peak in Sourced candidates could come from a data import, while a peak in Referral candidates could follow a referral campaign.
New candidates by status
A pie chart that shows how many new candidates are Qualified or Disqualified. Candidates who aren't in any job are shown as None. By default, it covers the last 30 days.
Candidate sources
A bar chart that shows the number of new candidates per source tag, from most to least. Use it to see which channels bring you the most candidates. By default, it covers the last 30 days.
Note: This report is based on source tags. To learn how to add and manage them, see Manage tags and source tags.
Qualified candidates in Jobs
A table that shows, for each active job, how many candidates are still qualified. Use it to see how many candidates are still in your hiring process for each job.
This report counts jobs that are Published or Internal use, and covers all time by default.
Pipeline breakdown
A bar chart that shows how many qualified candidates in active jobs are in each stage type, such as Phone screen, Interview, or Offer. Use it to see where your candidates are right now, across all jobs.
Like Qualified candidates in jobs, this report counts jobs that are Published or Internal use, and covers all time by default.
Note: This report is based on stage types. Candidates in stages without a stage type are shown as No type. To learn how to set stage types, see Connect your pipeline stages to reports.
Change the date range
Each report has its own default date range. To look at a different period, use the date picker at the top of the board. The date you pick applies to all reports on the board, so you can compare them side by side.
Tip: If you check the board less often than once a month, choose a longer range, like Last 90 days.
To change the default of a single report instead, edit that report.
Measure the impact of a sourcing campaign
A team lead opens the Candidates board at the start of each month. In Candidates over time, they notice a peak of Referral candidates in the second week, right after the company launched a referral campaign. Candidate sources confirms it, and Qualified candidates in jobs shows that most of these candidates are still qualified. Based on this, the team decides to run the campaign again next quarter.
