Set application limits

Limit how many times a candidate can apply, or prevent candidates from applying entirely.

Updated over a week ago

Keep your hiring pipeline clutter-free and focused by reducing duplicate and spam applications.

Limit repeat applications, choose how many jobs each candidate can apply for, and filter out unwanted emails or phone numbers.

These limits apply to applications from your careers site and Public API. Apply with Indeed remains unaffected.

How to set limits

You can define exactly how many times a candidate can apply for a single job or across all your job openings. You can edit or remove these limits at any time.

In the Candidate management and limits section, click on Set limits next to Application limits.

Toggle on your preferred limits:

  • Limit applications per job: Choose how many times a candidate can apply for the same role within a specific timeframe (e.g., 1 time every 1 year).

  • Limit total applications per candidate: Choose the maximum number of jobs a candidate can apply for across your company (e.g., 1 job every 6 months).

Click Save limits.

How to block candidates

If you are receiving unwanted applications, you can block candidates by their email address or phone number.

In the Candidate management and limits section, click on + Blacklist candidate next to Blacklisted candidates.

Enter the candidate’s email and phone number. Once you block them, the candidate cannot apply for your jobs using these details.

The system also ignores “+” aliases to prevent candidates from bypassing blocks.

You can edit their details or unblock a candidate at any time.
