Anonymous candidate
Updated over 4 months ago

Making objective decisions when hiring candidates may often be a hard thing but with Anonymous Candidate you can remove some of those potential biases. When the feature is enabled, it allows you to hide the candidate's name, gender or nationality from a pipeline. Thanks to this, you can evaluate a candidate’s CV without knowing anything else about the person and make a decision based only on their skill set and experience.

⚠️Personal details on a candidate's CV are hidden by an AI so as with any machine learning, information is sometimes not recognised perfectly.

How to enable anonymous candidates

In Settings, select Templates > Pipelines and select any of your pipeline templates.

Click the pencil icon next to a stage and tick the box to enable Anonymous candidates.

Once the feature is enabled, an eye icon appears on the stage to signal Anonymous candidates are active.

💡You can also enable Anonymous candidates for custom pipelines directly in the job’s editor.

The same icon is also displayed at the top of the pipeline where candidates are anonymised.

How anonymous candidate works

The candidate’s full name is now hidden in each job where the pipeline is used.

The candidate’s name is also hidden in the candidate’s category.

It also recognises information related to the candidate’s identity on the CV and hides the relevant information automatically. Here is a short list of the type of information the AI can hide:

  • Full name

  • Date of birth

  • Photo

  • Contact details (phone number, email, address)

  • Social media links

  • Gender

  • Nationality

When a candidate is anonymous, no one can message them or schedule an interview until they have moved to a stage where they are no longer anonymous to keep personal details from being discovered.

Once a candidate moves to a different pipeline where Anonymous Candidate is not enabled, their personal information is no longer anonymised.

📌A candidate’s details are also revealed when they are removed from a job or disqualified..
