Automate WhatsApp messages per pipeline stage

Learn how to automate WhatsApp messages in Recruitee using FunnelBridge triggers.

Updated over a week ago

With WhatsApp Hiring (formerly FunnelBridge), you can automatically send WhatsApp messages to candidates in Recruitee as they move through different stages of your hiring pipeline.

This feature helps streamline communication and ensures timely updates — without manual effort. Ensure the (basic or customized) message templates you plan to use have been created and approved.

Pipeline stage

You can set up automated WhatsApp messages individually at each stage and job. Here’s how it works:

  • If you edit your standard pipeline, it will apply to all new jobs created going forward.

  • You can also configure WhatsApp messages for any of your pipeline templates.

  • If you want to automate messages for an existing job, you must edit the pipeline template currently in use.

  • If you’re using a customized pipeline, you must first save it as a template in Recruitee before adding automations.

Once a candidate is moved to a stage with a configured automation trigger, messages are sent automatically and immediately. You can start setting up the pipeline automation in two ways.

Option 1: Set it up in Recruitee

  1. Click on the FunnelBridge icon within the pipeline template and stage where you’d like to automate a message.

Important:

The FunnelBridge icons only appear if you’ve installed the FunnelBridge browser extension.

Option 2: Set it up in FunnelBridge

  1. In FunnelBridge, go to Settings > Pipeline automations.

  2. Click on Create a new automation.

  3. Select the pipeline and stage from Recruitee where you’d like to send the automated message.

The message template

In the FunnelBridge setup screen, you’ll be able to:

  • Select the message template to send.

  • If your template includes variables, define the placeholder values here.

  • Choose whether to send the message immediately or after a delay.

Once saved, your automation will appear under Settings > Pipeline automations in FunnelBridge. You can edit or delete automations at any time.
