Sending a requisition for approval

Once you have filled out all the fields in the Details tab, you can request the approval of your requisition.

To do so, click Request approval. Once a requisition is sent for approval, you can no longer edit it. To change the details, you will need to cancel the approval process once it’s pending and edit the fields.

An optional message box will appear where you can give an introduction to your request or include background information on why this new position is needed. You can also add additional notes and/ or files to help give the broader context needed to get approval. This message will only be visible to approvers attached to the requisition. Once you’re finished with your optional note, you can click Request approval.

📌 Requesting approval will be unavailable in the following situations:

  • The approval flow has not been selected. In this case, you need to go to the Approval flow tab and select a flow.

After the request has been sent, notifications will be sent every time the requisition is in a new step and will notify all approvers for that step at once. For example, once the reviewers of the first step have approved, the approvers of the following step will receive a notification to review all at once.

📌 If needed, an approval request can be canceled at any time. This brings the requisition back to its previous status (either Draft or Rejected).

If an approver rejects the requisition, they’ll need to explain why. Their message will be visible in the Details and Approval flow tabs, and the requisition's status will be automatically changed to Rejected.

Once your requisition is sent for approval, the steps to follow to approve or reject the requisition can be found here.

When all required approvers approve the requisition, the status will change to Approved, meaning it can be assigned to one or more jobs.
