LinkedIn Apply Connect integration

With LinkedIn Apply Connect, we’re helping you streamline the hiring process. Jobs submitted to LinkedIn are published in near real-time, and candidates can apply for your jobs in a few clicks directly on LinkedIn, using the LinkedIn Apply (earlier known as Easy Apply) button.

LinkedIn Recruiter customers can also benefit from the following features:

  • LinkedIn Applicant Highlights: quickly identify quality applicants by viewing LinkedIn profile and skills highlights in Tellent Recruitee.

  • Applicant Notifications: automatically notify applicants of their application status to build trust throughout the hiring process.

In this article:

⚠️ Important:

  • LinkedIn Apply Connect is only available to customers with an active Tellent Recruitee subscription. Trial accounts cannot enable this integration.

  • Jobs can only be submitted to LinkedIn Basic Jobs when your Tellent Recruitee account has been active for more than 30 days.

Setting up the integration

⚠️ Important: Enabling Apply Connect will also initiate a one-time migration of your job postings from legacy source to API source and requires re-configuring Job Wrapping to the ATS API source (Refer Help Article). This applies if your jobs were not posted to LinkedIn via Tellent Recruitee, but instead sourced via job ingestion methods such as XML or scraping.

📌 Note for Recruiter and non-Recruiter customers: Activating the integration doesn't automatically enable Apply Connect for all your job postings, nor does it automatically send your jobs to LinkedIn. After activating the integration, complete the following steps to send a job to LinkedIn with Apply Connect:

For new jobs, for each job,

  1. Enable the Apply Connect setting at the job or integration level.

  2. Submit your job to LinkedIn Basic Jobs via the Promote tab of your job offer.

For existing jobs that you want to enable with Apply Connect,

  1. To update:

    1. In bulk - Click on the Enable all jobs button in Integration Settings.

    2. At individual job level - Enable the Apply Connect setting in the job editor.

  2. Submit your job to LinkedIn Basic Jobs via the Promote tab of your job offer (If it wasn't already submitted).

For Recruiter customers

Please follow these steps if you have a LinkedIn Recruiter license:

📌 You must have a Recruiter Admin (Searcher) permission in Recruiter to activate the integration (Refer Help Article).

  1. Go to Marketplace > Categories > Candidate Experience and select LinkedIn Apply Connect.

  2. Click Integrate, then Sign in to your LinkedIn Recruiter account.

  3. Click Continue or Select if you have multiple LinkedIn contracts.

  4. Next, click Choose integrations in the Onboarding widget.

  5. Select the Apply Connect checkbox to enable the integration, then click Save at the bottom of the widget. You can also turn on Applicant Notifications to have LinkedIn automatically notify candidates when their application is first viewed, their resume is downloaded, or their application is rejected in Tellent Recruitee.

This page may reload several times until LinkedIn enables this integration.

  6. While the system is waiting for its activation, you can manually refresh the status by clicking the Notify partner button, then closing this widget.

  7. Your LinkedIn Apply Connect integration has been activated.

For non-Recruiter customers

Please follow these steps if you don't have a LinkedIn Recruiter license, or if you have a LinkedIn Recruiter Lite plan:

  1. Go to Marketplace > Categories > Candidate Experience and select LinkedIn Apply Connect.

  2. Click on Not a LinkedIn Recruiter customer? Enter your LinkedIn Company ID instead at the bottom of the widget.

  3. Insert your LinkedIn Company ID and click Submit.

💡You can find your LinkedIn Company ID by following the steps outlined in LinkedIn’s FAQ.

  4. Your LinkedIn Apply Connect integration has been activated.

Now that the integration is activated, you can proceed by enabling Apply Connect either to all jobs via the Integration Settings, or on individual jobs as needed.

Enabling Apply Connect

Enabling Apply Connect for all jobs

When the Enable 'Apply Connect' for future jobs by default setting is enabled, all new jobs created will have Apply Connect activated by default.

Candidates will see the LinkedIn Apply (earlier known as Easy Apply) button displayed next to your job posting on LinkedIn. Candidates can apply directly on LinkedIn using their LinkedIn profile, while still being required to complete the screening questions configured in the Application tab of the job editor.

📌 Note : This integration does not support Infobox, Legal, and Video answer types for screening questions. Candidates will not be prompted to answer questions on LinkedIn using these types.

Application Flow

Submitting an application

When clicking LinkedIn Apply on a job posting, candidates will go through the following steps:

  1. Submit their LinkedIn contact information.

  2. Upload a resume and/or cover letter.

  3. Answer screening questions.

  4. Click Submit Application.

Applicant Notifications

⚠️ Important: The Applicant Notification is only available for LinkedIn Recruiter customers. This feature isn't available for LinkedIn Recruiter Lite customers.

You can enable automatic candidate notifications in the Integrations Settings to keep applicants informed throughout the hiring process.

When turned on, LinkedIn will email candidates when their profile is viewed, disqualified, or downloaded in Tellent Recruitee.

Candidates can also track their application status directly on the LinkedIn job posting based on actions taken in Tellent Recruitee:

  • Application submitted: displayed immediately after the candidate applies.

  • Resume downloaded by Job Poster and Application viewed: displayed once the recruiter opens the candidate's profile in Tellent Recruitee.

  • Application rejected: displayed when a candidate is disqualified in Tellent Recruitee. This status takes 3 days to reflect on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn Profile Widget

⚠️ Important: The LinkedIn Profile widget is only available for LinkedIn Recruiter customers. This feature isn't available for LinkedIn Recruiter Lite customers.

You can quickly identify quality applicants by viewing LinkedIn profiles and skills highlights in Tellent Recruitee.

Apply Connect Applicants

The LinkedIn Applicant Highlights are only available for candidates who applied through LinkedIn Apply (earlier known as Easy Apply).

You can quickly view LinkedIn applicant highlights in the following areas in Tellent Recruitee:

In the Candidates tab, click the Adjust column icon next to “+Add candidates” to include Integrations.

In the job pipeline, click the Adjust pipeline icon next to “+Add candidates” to include Integrations.

In both areas, a LinkedIn badge will appear on profiles of candidates who applied via Apply Connect. Hover over the icon to view the candidate’s LinkedIn applicant Highlights.

You can also view LinkedIn applicant highlights via the LinkedIn tab within the candidate profile.

Non-Apply Connect Applicants

The LinkedIn Profile widget is also available for candidates who applied outside of LinkedIn, but are assigned to a job with an active Apply Connect posting. LinkedIn identifies the candidate by matching the job posting ID with the candidate email address or their social links.

You can find the LinkedIn Profile widget in the same areas mentioned above.
