WhatsApp bot
1. Restarting the chat
If you want to test the application process for a different job or scenario, type “cancel” in the chat, and the bot will restart.
2. Testing the bot again
Once the application process is completed, the bot won’t respond again. To reset it, delete the profile associated with your number in Recruitee.
3. Turning off CV requests
If you don’t want the bot to request CVs through WhatsApp, you can turn off this option for all jobs in your WhatsApp Hiring settings.
4. How the chat works
The bot follows the structure of the application form in Recruitee. It will ask questions and gather information based on this form. To make any changes, update the application form within Recruitee.
5. Answering Candidate Questions
The WhatsApp bot can also answer questions from candidates, for example about salary, working hours, etc.
As a knowledge base, it automatically uses the job description, requirements, and job details from Recruitee.
You can provide the bot with additional information in text form via the WhatsApp Hiring settings.
If the bot cannot answer a question, it will inform the candidate accordingly.
6. Languages
The bot can communicate in over 26 languages. It works like this:
It detects the applicant’s browser language and offers to switch if it differs from the bot’s default language.
It uses the language in which the applicant starts the chat. If the chosen language isn’t supported, the bot defaults to your WhatsApp Hiring account’s language.
WhatsApp messaging
1. Activating the WhatsApp Chat Window
The WhatsApp chat window is automatically displayed for all candidates in Recruitee who have a correctly formatted mobile phone number listed in their candidate profile.
If the chat window is not displayed, this is either because no mobile number is provided or because it is incorrectly formatted. Please check the number and make sure the correct country code is included.
Once the mobile number is correctly entered, the WhatsApp chat window will appear automatically.
2. Collaborative testing
Your hiring team can test WhatsApp Hiring collaboratively during the trial. For that, users must connect their accounts individually in Recruitee by navigating to Marketplace > Recruitee WhatsApp Hiring > Settings > Connect your account.
3. Message templates
If a candidate hasn’t applied through WhatsApp or their chat has been inactive for over 24 hours, you must use a message template (a requirement from Meta).
You can create custom message templates for any situation flexibly in WhatsApp Hiring.
