Best practices for WhatsApp Hiring

These guidelines will help you test how things work and make it easier to evaluate the platform.

During your WhatsApp Hiring (formerly FunnelBridge) trial, you can test the WhatsApp bot and messaging features to see how they can support and improve your hiring process.

Supported languages

The WhatsApp Bot currently supports the following languages:

WhatsApp bot

1. Restarting the chat

If you want to test the application process for a different job or scenario, type โ€œcancelโ€ in the chat, and the bot will restart.

2. Testing the bot again

Once the application process is completed, the bot wonโ€™t respond again. To reset it, delete the profile associated with your number in Recruitee.

3. Turning off CV requests

If you donโ€™t want the bot to request CVs through WhatsApp, you can turn off this option for all jobs in your FunnelBridge settings.

4. How the chat works

The bot follows the structure of the application form in Recruitee. It will ask questions and gather information based on this form. To make any changes, update the application form within Recruitee.

5. Languages

The bot can communicate in over 26 languages. It works like this:

It detects the applicantโ€™s browser language and offers to switch if it differs from the botโ€™s default language.

It uses the language in which the applicant starts the chat. If the chosen language isnโ€™t supported, the bot defaults to your FunnelBridge accountโ€™s language.

WhatsApp messaging

1. Activating the chat window

The WhatsApp chat window will only be visible for candidates added to your Recruitee account after the integration.

To activate it for pre-existing candidates, you can enable it retroactively in your FunnelBridge settings.

2. Collaborative testing

You can invite your hiring team to test FunnelBridge collaboratively during the trial. In the settings, go to Manage Employee Access and send invitations.

3. Message templates

If a candidate hasnโ€™t applied through WhatsApp or their chat has been inactive for over 24 hours, you must use a message template (a requirement from Meta).

You can create custom message templates directly in FunnelBridge.
