Learn how pricing works for conversations through WhatsApp Business.

FunnelBridge uses Meta’s official WhatsApp Business API to ensure you can communicate securely and comply with data protection regulations in your hiring process.

The API offers enhanced security features and greater automation capabilities than the standard WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app.

To use this service, you’ll need to connect your own phone number to FunnelBridge and create a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA).

Meta charges fees for certain types of conversations conducted through this account.

Why does Meta charge fees?

The WhatsApp Business API is a separate platform designed specifically for business use. Among other things, it offers:

  • GDPR-compliant data processing

  • Server locations within the EU

  • Higher security standards

  • Delivery guarantees

  • Automation capabilities

These fees help finance this professional infrastructure and allow Meta to monetize WhatsApp for business purposes.

What is a “conversation”?

Each 24-hour time window is considered a conversation.

Every reply from a candidate resets the 24-hour timer. If you do not reply to the candidate within 24 hours, a new conversation window will open, and Meta will charge you again.

How much does a conversation cost?

If the candidate starts the conversation

It is free of charge.

Chats you receive via the FunnelBridge WhatsApp bot are generally free, and replies you send within 24 hours are also free.

If the company starts the conversation

It is chargeable.

The price depends on the country your company is located in and the category of the first message in the conversation.

Meta uses machine learning to classify each conversation into one of the following categories:

  • Utility (usually the cheapest)

  • Marketing (the most expensive)

Application-related conversations typically fall into either Utility or Marketing.

Example calculation

If you start 100 conversations after 24 hours of inactivity per month, Meta will charge approximately:

  • 🇩🇪 Germany: €7.94

  • 🇳🇱 Netherlands: €8.69

  • 🇫🇷 France: €7.17

  • 🇨🇭 Switzerland and 🇦🇹 Austria: €3.69

  • 🇬🇧 United Kingdom: €3.10

The country assignment is based on your phone number’s country code. We have observed that approximately 50% of conversations are categorized as “Utility” and 50% as “Marketing.”
