Using standardized message templates in WhatsApp Hiring streamlines communication and saves time. Before you can use a message template in WhatsApp Hiring, it must be reviewed and approved by Meta to ensure it meets their guidelines for content, formatting, and placeholders.
You can quickly send pre-approved, personalized messages, reaching candidates faster while ensuring consistency and compliance.
1. Navigate to the message templates section
In WhatsApp Hiring, go to Settings > Manage message templates.
Click the Create a new message template button.
2. Name and write your template
Write the message text and enter a name for your message template
Keep the message clear and professional - this will be sent to candidates once approved.
Rules for Getting Message Templates Approved
Message templates cannot end with a placeholder.
❌ "Hello {{1}}"
✅ "Hello {{1}}, we are reaching out regarding your application."Placeholders must be numbered consecutively (
{{1}},{{2}}, …).For manual placeholders, an example value must always be provided
(e.g.,{{1}}→ "Max").Avoid excessive use of capital letters, emojis, or special characters.
The language of the template must match the selected language.
No spelling or grammar mistakes.
3. Submit for approval
After clicking Create a message template, the template is sent to Meta for approval, a process that may take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes. During this time, the status will appear as PENDING. For unverified meta business accounts it usually takes 24 hours until the template is approved and will appear in your WhatsApp Hiring account.
Once approved, the status will be updated to APPROVED (marked in green), and your template will be ready to use.
