Use a Custom Domain for your Careers Site

Connect a custom domain to your careers site to match your company’s branding and provide a seamless candidate experience.

By default, your careers site is hosted on a Recruitee subdomain. To strengthen your employer brand, you can point your own domain name—such as jobs.company.com or workatcompany.com—to Recruitee. This configuration takes place in your account settings and requires a quick update to your domain’s DNS records.

Note: Setting up a custom domain is an advanced feature available on premium plans. Ensure you have administrative access to your company’s domain hosting provider before proceeding.

Set up your domain in Recruitee

Begin the configuration process inside your Recruitee platform.

1. Navigate to Settings > General > Company settings > Careers site.

2. Locate the Custom domain section and click Edit.

3. Enter the custom domain you would like to use for your careers site.

4. Click Save.

Important: You can only use a root domain (like workatcompany.com) or a subdomain (like jobs.company.com). It is not possible to host your careers site using a subdirectory path (such as company.com/jobs).

Update your DNS settings

After adding the domain to Recruitee, you must update the DNS settings with your domain registrar or hosting provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare). If you do not have access to these settings, share these instructions with your internal IT team or webmaster.

Depending on whether you chose a subdomain or a main root domain, follow the corresponding path below:

Option A: Subdomain configuration (e.g., jobs.company.com)

To use a subdomain, you need to add two CNAME records pointing to secure.recruitee.com.

  • Record 1: Your primary subdomain (e.g., jobs.company.com) ➔ CNAMEsecure.recruitee.com

  • Record 2: The www version (e.g., www.jobs.company.com) ➔ CNAMEsecure.recruitee.com

Note: Depending on your hosting provider, you may need to add a trailing dot (.) to the end of the host name, or enter only the prefix part of your subdomain.

Option B: Main domain configuration (e.g., workatcompany.com)

To point a root domain directly to your careers page, you need to add two A records pointing to the Recruitee IP address: 35.242.209.60.

  • Record 1: Your root domain (e.g., workatcompany.com) ➔ A Record35.242.209.60

  • Record 2: The www version (e.g., www.workatcompany.com) ➔ A Record35.242.209.60

Important: DNS record updates can take up to 48 hours to fully propagate across the internet. Your careers site may not display on the new domain immediately.

Verify your SSL certificate

Security is handled automatically once your records are configured correctly. Recruitee provides and automatically renews an SSL certificate issued by the Let’s Encrypt Authority.

The platform will automatically attach this security certificate to your custom domain as soon as your DNS settings are successfully detected and verified by our system. There is no need to buy or upload a separate certificate.
